Most of us dread swimsuit season due to our out of shape abdomens, butts and thighs. However, if swimsuits for 2012 will be designed as those showcased in Brazil S/S 2012, I will start my diet now! This year’s showcase has taken a demure that most women will appreciate and look good in - not just the six-foot Amazonian models that worked them on the runway. There is an understated sensuality portrayed in the high-neckline suits with intrepid backs and lingerie-inspired designs. I particularly appreciated the geometric shapes, high waists, and crafty new forms of denim and wovens that came into play in unexpected ways.
Designer Janiero displays lingerie-inspired woven swimwear that is lightly lined with underwire demi cups and boning reinforced in seams.
My absolute favorites are the geometric shapes and high-waist bottoms. The bottoms allow you to wear as shorts and give belly-conscious women the opportunity to wear short tops that otherwise would not dare to be worn.
These beach blouses are another must-have that can be worn in so many ways. These particular hipster bikini bottoms give a good balance of proportions, not to mention oozes sex appeal.
And finally, this semi cover-up that is on trend with the maxi skirts of 2011. This is a beachwear additive that gives a sexy slit, perfect for lunch at a local restaurant on the beach.
